MaxLinear Names Tom Pardun to Board of Directors

Industry Veteran Brings Consumer Technology and Telecommunications Experience to Fast Growing RF & Mixed Signal IC Company

CARLSBAD, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 08/03/09 -- MaxLinear Inc., a fabless semiconductor company at the forefront of developing all-CMOS broadband radio-frequency (RF) & mixed-signal IC solutions for consumer markets, today announced that Tom Pardun has been elected to its board of directors. Pardun currently serves as chairman of the board for Western Digital Corp.

Pardun has been a director for Western Digital since 1993 and chairman of the board of directors since April 2007. Pardun previously was president of MediaOne International Asia Pacific (a subsidiary of U.S. West, Inc.), an owner/operator of international cable television, telephone services, and wireless communications companies, from May 1996 until July 2000.

The addition of Pardun expands MaxLinear's Board of Directors to six members. The company's existing board members include Dr. Kishore Seendripu, company CEO and Chairman of the board.

Before joining U.S. West, Mr. Pardun was president of the Central Group for Sprint, as well as president of Sprint's West Division and senior vice president of business development for United Telecom, a predecessor company to Sprint. Mr. Pardun also held a variety of management positions during a 19-year tenure with IBM, concluding as Director of product-line evaluation. He is also a director of CalAmp Corporation and Occam Networks, Inc.
